Orthomolecular medicine

Orthomolecular medicine involves the prevention and treatment of diseases using the optimal amounts of natural substances, such as vitamins, minerals, trace elements, amino acids, enzymes, and friendly bacteria. Linus Pauling first used the term “orthomolecular” in a paper he wrote for the Journal Science in 1968. He is one of only four individuals to win more than one Nobel Prize.
